The British Virgin Islands aka BVI'sare a collection of 60 Islands in the North East part of the Caribbean. Non commercialised and safe they are best known for sailing windsurfing and diving.The two main Islands Tortola and Virgin Gorda have lush wooded peaks terminating in perfect white sandy beaches. In true contrasting character Anegada is an Atoll with fantastic reefs and beaches. It is best known for sailing, some say the worlds best due to the ability to learn the winds and calmness of the oceans. Part of the fun is island hopping here and easily achieved. Its probably best done on a sailboat. On and off shore there are 20 national parks looking after many species such as the Anegada Rock Iguana. The accomodations vary with excellent restaurants the BVI's should be considered your Caribbean Island of or Islands of choice. Dont miss the Baths on Virgin Gorda - volcanic formations of grottoes rock pools caves and deserted beaches.

Diving All abilities can dive here and there are all kinds of diving. The Rhone is the most interesting dive perhaps it was the location of part of the movie The Deep made in 1976 a hundred and ten years before she sank. In a Hurricane the ship was dashed against salt island and sank in 1876. Some of the wrecks here are aircraft. The outer islands can get rougher seas but for novices there are many sheltered shallow dives to be had. Its popular with livaboards due to it being islands. Dead chest island was where Blackbeard marooned 15 men with just a bottle of rum.
