The resort is built around a privately owned 4-acre cay centrally located on the south shore of Roatan, just off the main road. Barefoot Cay has a dual personality - stand on its south shore and you feel like you are alone and completely away from civilization. You see the sandy beach and reef out to the open sea and on a clear day, the mountains of mainland Honduras thirty miles away can be seen. Barefoot Cay resort is located safely behind the reef, so even on a blustery day, a small boat or kayak can be taken all around the cay.
On the north side, an 75-foot-wide channel separates Barefoot Cay resort from the island of Roatan, where a dock, secure parking for guests, our oceanview luxury loft accommodations, and Barefoot Divers.
