An island shared by two sovereign governments almost equally and with a border that is almost un-noticable. This island sits in the North Eastern corner of the chain of Caribbean Islands. The Heineken Regatta is the largest sailing event in the Caribbean and each have their own carnival St Maarten's in April and St Martin's in February. St Maarten has many Dutch colonial buildings and houses the busy cruise port. St Martin has luxury resorts great restaurants cafes and bars. Activities include horseriding biking and golf for example more unique to the Caribbean is the lagoon cruising and the salt ponds. The island has rolling hills and fantastic beaches.

Language :Dutch , French, English and Spanish.
Currency: Netherlands Antilles Guilder or Florin (ANG) on the Maarten side and the Euro on the St Martin side, USD also accepted all over.
Diving :Its a small Island with over 40 diving sites and quite a few wrecks for all abilities. St Maartens best wrecks are HMS Proselyte that sank in 1801 and the freighter Teigland which was intentionally sunk to form an artificial reef on Cable Reef.
Further afield is little SABA well known for diving.
