Scuba Diving Dominican Republic – PADI certified dive boat operation located in Bayahibe, a small fishing village on the south coast of Dominican Republic. A place that offers some of the best dive spots for scuba diving on the Caribbean side of this beautiful island.

We are the only dive operation in Bayahibe that specializes in scuba diving, scuba lessons, snorkeling and trips for private groups. For about the same price you can enjoy scuba diving or boat trips only with your family or group of friends, make your own schedule, nobody will rush anywhere. The only limitation is the weather and the sea conditions.

The Sea Dragon is an ideal venue for eight serious divers to pursue the underwater beauty found throughout the Exuma Cays. Four air-conditioned staterooms each house two divers in separate beds along with all their non-diving gear.

The R/V Sea Dragon is operated by Out-Island Oceanics, Inc. and is fully equipped to provide a comfortable working platform for eight divers for diving and oceanographic research in remote areas. Underwater exploration is facilitated by the use of SCUBA and such persons should be adequately trained. All charters are custom-tailored to fit the group involved. Eight guests is the maximum, but an additional organizer may be accommodated as part of the crew. The maximum number of persons per trip is limited to nine.

Out Island Oceanics, Inc. has offered dive excursions to the Exuma Cays since 1972. Captains Dan Doyle and Sue Ford owned and operated the 70' Dragon Lady , which was sold in 1978. Subsequently the R/V Sea Dragon was designed from scratch and custom built in 1980 as an ideal liveaboard dive boat.

The Sea Dragon carries two tanks for each diver. Two 9 cfm Bauer compressors push air into staging tanks for quick, high quality fills for the unlimited diving aboard the boat. Since the boat is anchored on the reef, no time is wasted moving equipment to and from the shore or chase boat.

Each diver is assigned a large private storage bin for their gear. These bins are often located directly underneath the diver's tanks, which makes quick and easy donning and doffing of gear. All bins are within 15 feet of an ocean entry.

A large dive platform built into the stern enables divers to exploit two separate ladders for easy entry and exit.

Each day's diving includes four different dive sites and anywhere from four to six diving opportunities. Night dives are available almost every night.

All expenses for food, fuel, water, dockage, and consumables (including soft drinks and beer) are covered by the daily charter rate.

The Sea Dragon has a complete crew, including the cook who prepares three excellent American-style meals each day.

Cold soft drinks and beer are available free of charge 24 hours/day. Of course, diving is disallowed for the rest of any day for any diver who imbibes.

Accommodations include four double cabins with space for personal items and clothing; crew's quarters are separate. The main deck has a raised wheelhouse, specious main salon, and a fully-equipped galley. An upper deck features sunning and observation.

This certification includes five Adventure Dives, including the Deep Adventure Dive, the Underwater Navigator Adventure Dive, and your choice of three of the following: Digital Underwater Photographer, Wreck Diver, Drift Diver, Night Diver,• Peak Performance Buoyancy,• Search and Recovery Diver,• Underwater Naturalist, Videographer,• Boat Diver, Fish ID.

While uncommon, emergencies in scuba diving do occasionally occur. The PADI Rescue Diver course trains you to anticipate and respond to a variety of diving-related emergency scenarios. PADI Divemaster training develops your leadership abilities, qualifying you to supervise dive activities and assist PADI instructors with student divers. It is a vital stepping stone along the path to instructor. Your Divemaster internship on Roatan should be one of the best times of your life. Not only because you are doing lots of diving in a beautiful tropical location steps from or on the beach, but because of the awesome array of people you will have the opportunity to meet and work with. Whilst there are naturally serious aspects to the course there is a huge focus on FUN. Since most people dive for fun you need to develop skills that ensure the safety of your divers without taking away the fun.

Following your Divemaster course the best way to find employment is to make the step to instructor, this challenging 10 day course followed by an Instructor Exam with a PADI examiner prepares you to teach all the courses you have taken on your way to this goal.

The goals of the IDC are not limited to teaching candidates how to pass an IE. The IDC emphasizes development, not testing. This produces a low-stress environment that makes learning easier. Candidates can relax and concentrate on skill development, knowing that making mistakes is part of the learning process. During these courses, the staff plays the important role of supporting, guiding and advising candidates. This two phase program, IDC and IE, makes the PADI Instructor development process the most comprehensive and demanding of any in the dive industry. New PADI Instructors must meet the highest standards for learning and performance of any recreational diver certification organization.

What is commonly known as Bimini is actually two separate islands, North Bimini and South Bimini. The islands are separated by a shallow, narrow channel and transportation between the two islands is by a short, 4 minute water taxi ride. The majority of Bimini's population resides on North Bimini as does the island(s) center of commerce. The North Island is just 7 miles long and in many places, less than 700 feet wide. Less than half of that distance actually populated. South Bimini on the other hand, is a much larger land mass but is more sparsely populated. South Bimini is where the islands airstrip/airport is located and is a port-of-entry for the Bahamas.

Tobago, inhabited by the Caribs, was also sighted in 1498 by Columbus. It was successively a Spanish, British, Dutch, and French possession until 1814, when France, at the end of the Napoleonic Wars, had to cede the island to Britain. Tobago formed a part of the Windward Islands Colony until 1889, when it was joined to Trinidad.
