Barracudas are fearless marine fish swimming in the world's tropical and subtropical oceans. They are known for their fierceness and 'ambush' hunting - they lie in wait and catch the prey by surprise. There are approximately 25 species of Barracuda. The best known is the great barracuda, which are usually hunted for game. Great barracuda can grow up to 1.8 m (6 ft) long and swims in the Atlantic from Florida to Brazil. The northern sennet, another type of barracuda, is 46 cm (18 in) long and can be found from Bermuda to the Gulf of Mexico. The European barracuda and some others are known to attack humans for no apparent reason; however this is very rare.

Dear PADI,

Having travelled the world working as a PADI instructor I have fallen in love with diving and the underwater world.  Starting my journey in Roatan, Bay Islands of Honduras I was eighteen years old and did not have the slightest idea of what diving was all about except for the fact that I knew I would love it.  I spent sixteen months in Roatan accumulating masses of dives, working for various shops, encountering all types of underwater creatures from Blennys to Whale Sharks and progressed to become a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI).

My name is Luke George, I am 27 years old and a PADI master scuba diver trainer.

They say that all life began in the ocean, maybe it did who knows, it seems quite logical, but One thing we know for sure is that we all begin our lives surrounded by a pressurised liquid in the womb.

For some of us I guess we never let that feeling go. This was definitely very clear in my case.
