Pilar beach like much of Cayo Guillermo was hit hard by hurricane Irma in 2017, they are rebuilding but it is already as good as it was!

An excellent resort especially suitable for couples. Not the cheapest option but certainly lives up to the expectations which is not often the case in the caribbean! This resort is suitable also for weddings as much as it is suited to couples. Want to scuba? There are loads and hundreds of incredible diving spots a mile or less off the hotel. One dive that comes to mind descends huge undersea boulders and canals encrusted with endless tubes and sponges. Numerous tunnels and doorways descend to a vast tarpon-fish feeding ground. Very unique.

What a great drift dive, saw turtles and a great school of Barracuda. It's really a fantastic ride as you drift at a nice pace along the reef wall with corals galore. What a great dive we had.
